Renea Mason(Author)

Renea Mason writes steamy romances to help even out the estrogen to testosterone imbalance caused by living in a house full of men.

When she isn’t putting pen to paper crafting sensual stories filled with supernatural lovers, she spends time with her beyond-supportive husband, two wonderful sons and three loving but needy cats.

Renea is a member of Romance Writers of AmericaThe Paranormal Romance Guild and The Fantasy, Futuristic and Paranormal subchapter of the Romance Writers of America.

She is also a founding member of Coffee Talk Writers and the Coffee Talk website–a site designed to support established writers and foster new talent.

I was extremely blessed to get an interview with Renea and here it is!

When did you know you wanted to be a writer? Not until I was thirty seven.  I wasn’t someone who had always wanted to be a writer.  I wanted to be a singer, but ended up in an entirely unrelated career.  A little over a year and a half ago, I woke and said, “You know what? I’m going to write this story.”

Do you have any authors who inspire you?

I’m a huge paranormal romance fan.  J.R. Ward was the first to hook me, but I fell in love with Jeaniene Frost’s style. Sherrilyn Kenyon is another favorite. Oh, and then there is Karen Marie Moning.  I think they all have influenced me in some way.  Yeah, Larissa Ione.  And Lara Adrian…  The list is endless.  Such fabulous writers.

Do you have any other hobbies besides writing?

I’m fortunate to have two very young sons and a beyond supportive husband, who believes to this day that he’s the inspiration for Cyril.  We’ll just let him think that. 🙂  I also have another demanding full-time career.  So I’m either, working, writing or spending time with the family.  There isn’t time for much else.

Do you have any affirmations you tell yourself when you have writer’s block?

I’ve been lucky.  I haven’t had much writer’s block.  But then again, I haven’t had to write on a deadline.  I just write what the characters tell me to and all is good. My problem is finding quiet time to write with a toddler and a pre-schooler in the house.

What books do you currently have out?

Symphony of Light and Winter is my debut novel.  It was released in June.

Do you have any books set to be released soon?
I recently completed a short story called, The Impostor’s Kiss. It’s a story of Cyril’s time in seventeenth century Scotland, written from his perspective. I’m still in talks on that one.  I’m also in the middle of writing the second book in the Symphony of Light series.

What else would you like us to know about yourself and/or your books?
Not much to add except that I’ve been tremendously fortunate to find such supportive fans and wonderful group of writers to call friends.   There is nothing more satisfying than to know your work gave someone a momentary  escape from reality.  I know I’m grateful to those who allowed me to get lost in their worlds for a while.  But without surrounding myself with extremely talented authors, who guided me on my path, Symphony would still be a thought.  Having the world’s most patient and supportive husband didn’t hurt either.

I truly appreciate you giving Symphony of Light and Winter a read and review.  There are a lot of great books to choose from, thank you for choosing mine. And thank you for this opportunity!  It’s been a pleasure!

Thank you Renea for taking the time to talk with me!  It truly was an honor!!
Renea has also been gracious enough to give away 2 e-book copies of her Smokin’ Hot book “Symphony of Light and Winter”!!!  If you read her book, please leave a review on Amazon, Goodreads and/or Barnes and Noble, I know she’d really appreciate your feedback!

“Symphony of Light and Winter” by Renea Mason

coverOne woman. Seven men. All bound by one man’s undying devotion.

Fundraiser Linden Hill has a knack for reading people. She always knows which conversations will put a prospect at ease, which drink will loosen a patron’s lips—or his wallet, and how cleavage will make a donor sweeten the deal. She’s even foreseen her dateless weekends four hundred and sixty-four times in a row.

But ten years after watching life drain from her former mentor’s and first love’s eyes, her skills for divining the predictable are lost. When Cyril returns, he’s still gorgeous, but this time he’s beyond human, far less dead, and pissed. His lack of memory drives him to desperate acts, and his turbulent re-acquaintance with Linden pulls her into his war with a creature hell-bent on his destruction. His group of six supernatural men share a tantalizing secret, but despite the hunger, it’s love that leads her to sacrifice everything to save him… Continue reading
