I was extremely blessed with an interview with her! Here it is! 🙂
How old were you when you published your first book? 36. It was my birthday gift to myself.
What made you get into writing? Reading is what got me into writing honestly. I started writing stories when I was 12 thinking that I could create the same kinds of interesting scenes/characters that I had been reading. When I started receiving positive feedback from teachers and my friends, it just continued.
Do you have any affirmations you tell yourself when you’re having writer’s block? The easiest (and most difficult) way for me to push through those challenging times when I’m struggling with the words is just to keep writing. I give myself permission to write a crappy scene. It can always be edited later.
Who are your inspirations? My mother was a huge influence for me because she modeled the value of hard work. Stephen King was an early literary role model, but recently I have been fascinated by Joss Whedon. I love observing the work of modern day storytellers.
What other books do you have released? Bittersweet Junction is the full-length contemporary romance novel that I currently have available. I also have a few short romance stories that I’ve published. Those are just a bit spicier than Bittersweet Junction. I alternate between sweet and smexy in my work. 🙂
Any upcoming releases we should know about? I am releasing my next novel, Where My Heart Breaks, on August 30th.
What else would you like us to know about yourself and/or your writing? I’ve also published under another pen name writing paranormal fiction. If you are interested in writing, I don’t think you need to feel confined to a certain genre or type of writing. That’s the great thing about being an indie: you can try it all!
Thank you Ivy Sinclair for the interview! It was a pleasure and an honor! You can find more information about Ivy Sinclair and her amazing book “Bittersweet Junction” below.
