Then: There was nothing but confusion, heartbreak and pain.

Now: All that’s left to do is save the world from darkness and protect her heart from shattering into a million pieces.

Trish is a regular seventeen year old girl, her life is rather boring and anything but out of the ordinary. Home schooled and living alone, with only her mother for company.
That is until The Event, the very next day she’s shipped off to a boarding school in California, with no explanation as to why she is completely abandoned by the one person she thought would always be there for her. Trish finds herself angry, hurt and confused. Just as it seems that Trish starts leading a better life making friends and falling in love for the first time, everything changes.
Trish finds out what and who she really is, the descendent of a powerful fury. Thrown into one crazy situation after another Trish is fighting for survival and her heart.
Throw in Keagan the mysterious guy she is falling for and Sam who is there for her when she needs a shoulder to cry on , preparing for an epic battle between darkness and light, a prophecy that stems from The Old World, not knowing who she can and cannot trust and you get to go on a journey.

One you could never IMAGINE!

This book was given to me by the Authors, Christiane Shoenhair and Liam McEvilly, in exchange for an honest review.

The Review

Trish is a 17 yr old girl who is just like any other girl, with the rolling of the eyes at her mom, to loving her and needing her mom. Have you ever imagined/wished for something to happen? Well that is just what happens to Trish, the next thing she knows is she is shipped off to a boarding school with no explanations. She is bitter and angry with her mother for sending her away, just like anyone would be.

On her very first day she literally runs into Keagan a good looking young man who seems shy and quiet, and Chelsey, a pretty girl, who has a bubbly personality. She just takes Trish as her friend and turns out to be one friend we all wish we had. Chelsey brings Trish out of her slump, and soon the two girls are going out with Eddi and Keagan. And for a little while things seem good/great. Trish is looking forward to her first kiss and dreaming of possible things to come with Keagan.

Then things take a turn and the book just gets better. Keagan and Eddi are not just normal boys and Trish’s whole life is about to change when her gift comes out. She now has to find the truth, as most of her life is based on lies and half truths. Even Keagan starts to question his beliefs and his heart.

A war is waging and they are now a part of that. Can they find a way to over come the past and the bad, for the greater good?

I found the book to be a good read and fun. Yet, also very thought provoking. Good against evil. A test of the bonds we share as friends, family and Humanity. A coming of age, first love and freewill. The challenges that face us all.

I did have a bit of a problem with a lot of minor contradictions in conversation and the story. I found that they did hit the nail on the head when talking about California and just loved the way the story line went.

I was a bit confused with how Artemis, who is a virgin goddess, was able to some how have descendants. With that being said, this is a fantasy. The characters were believable and I am looking forward to reading more. I like how you really got to feel the characters and get to know them. I liked the detail the authors went into, for each of them. I liked the way it felt. Like you were sitting right there as Trish tells you her thoughts.

“I love how books let you escape, how one minute you’re lying on your bed alone and with the turn of a page you’re in a foreign land painted in your mind by the author. Whether it is in the past, a different country or even a completely different world entirely, it’s a great way to escape.”

This describes “Imagine” perfectly. You can lose yourself in this book. I’m looking forward to book 2 in the Young Creator Trilogy, “Touched By Darkness”. Due for release (approximately) February 15th!
