When Genevieve Riley sneaks onto the O’Bannon Ranch to return a stolen heirloom, the boy she’d fallen in love with as a teenager, Nick O’Bannon, catches her before she can slip away. The problem is, he’s now a big, rugged cowboy, and those feelings from a decade ago resurface. She can’t concentrate on anything but picking up where they left off.
Nick can’t believe what his dogs cornered. Beautiful ‘Jellybean’ Riley, all grown up and sexier than sin. He never knew what tore her from his life when they were teens, just as their relationship was starting. With the heat radiating between them, he knows he can seduce her, but can he make her stay this time?
I received a copy of this book from the author, Randi Alexander, in exchange for an honest review and so I shall deliver. First I need to apologize to the author for not getting this review out before Valentine’s Day as I had intended. HOWEVER, this is a book that can be read anytime.
This book is more of a short story(54 pages), so it was a quick read and my review won’t be very long. But I still LOVED it! It’s a story about a second chance at love, however, can you ever truly go back?
Genevieve is back to try to make things right with the families her father betrayed. Her first stop is the O’Bannon Ranch. Her father was their foreman when she was a young, so it became her home and Nick O’Bannon was her first love. One day, they were forced to leave and she never seen Nick until the day she stopped in to make things right.
Nick is shocked when he sees a beautiful woman in his house. Only until she tells him who she is does he realize his first love is in front of him. He has mixed emotions. Why did they leave? Why didn’t she ever contact him again?
But things aren’t as easy as just talking about the past and reliving it. It’s been years since they seen each other last. And what about the woman she overhears Nick and his brother whispering about? Did he move on without her? Is it too late for love? or does True Love conquer all?
I just REALLY enjoyed this book. It had AMAZING SIZZLING sex, wonderful memories and a few “OH HELL NO!” moments. It had so much story, packed into those 54 pages! I felt like I had read an entire book. It wasn’t rushed and although it leaves you with a couple questions that would make you continue reading the next book if Randi Alexander decides to expand on this story, it doesn’t leave you with that drug addict who just got cut off feeling. It definitely can’t be considered a cliffhanger and if the author chooses not to expand on it, you won’t mind.
