Welcome to the new visitors of the tour, and hello again to my returning friends. As I’ve been explaining throughout, Second Star to the Right is a romance story about a man seeking to define himself, an escort caught between the desire to find connection yet keep himself grounded, and how the brilliance of love can be the brightest light in dark skies if we’re willing to let it burn.
So… in an effort to attempt something a little different for this blog tour, I decided it might be cool to connect with you, the reader, and explain how I define myself. I sent out a call, asking “Inquiring Minds” to throw some questions at me, and offered to do my best to answer them. Let’s light up the sky together, and hopefully have a little fun in the process…
(Be sure to read through to the end for details on the release, as well as a chance to WIN your very own ebook copy.)
Q & A
David asks: With your vision of the novel, which Hollywood stars would best compliment your overall story and your vision?
Henley replies: I always get nervous answering questions like this. I have this notion that it’s best to let my reader’s mind wander when it comes to character descriptions. That way the reader is always happy with the concept they come up with instead of trying to force their imagination into my perception. However, I did have a strong mental image of Tom Hiddleston when I was writing Mason’s character. Of course, reality will tell us that Tom is far too tall for Mason, but that’s the cool thing about imagination – in my head I can make him any size I want him. (Yes, this is me wiggling my eyebrows over that last comment while innuendos about size run rampant through my head.)
As for Jack… well, I do have a pic on a reference tumblr account that I used for ermm, you know, “inspiration,” but copyright laws being what they are, I will refrain from including it in the post. If anyone wants to visit the account and see where my head is when I’m musing characters, the blog name is referenceafh, and the pics are tagged with the character names and the novel titles.
Danny asks: Is there a certain ritual regarding your work? Are you doing or avoiding things when it comes to writing because of superstition?
Henley replies: The only real ritual I follow for writing is uncorking the wine.
I used to have a specific location and a fixed setting within that location that had to be just so when I wrote. Things change. One learns to adapt. Now the only absolute is that I need silence, but that has to do with my own focus issues as opposed to superstition.
Anon asks: How come you never write threesomes?
Henley replies: Ah, the threesome – so lovely in porn and on paper, but so damn awkward in real life. And that, right there, is why I don’t write them. I try to keep my sex scenes as realistic as possible, and in a setting that I myself would feel comfortable with, otherwise I find I lose believability. Then there’s the whole romantic connection that I like to focus on in my stories, and though it could just be my own personal take on the process, I don’t usually read/see/experience true romantic connection in most group sex scenes.
Lavender Wynter asks: Where do you go to get away from the day-to-day?
Henley replies: Right here. *taps forehead* It’s the only vacation destination that will never let me down weather-wise or setting-wise, there are always people that I can relate to sharing the space with me, and it doesn’t cost a dime to get there.
Second Star to the Right
By AF Henley
Be it unrequited fascination with his straight best friend or impossible fantasies of rekindled interest with his heartbreaking ex, Mason has no clue why the perfect connection seems to keep slipping through his fingers. When another lonely holiday seems like too much weight to shoulder, Mason gives up on romance and seeks out the next best thing—rented company. Jack is everything a person could want in an escort: willing, hot, and built like an angel.
Mason can’t resist. After all, who wouldn’t be interested in a guy who loves kid’s movies, is a self-professed Peter Pan, and has no problem throwing caution to the wind at a moment’s notice. But then interest quickly blooms into a whole new emotion—an emotion that Mason knows far too well, especially when Jack has no interest in returning it, preferring to keep his heart safely tucked away in Neverland.

About the Author:
Henley was born with a full-blown passion for run-on sentences, a zealous indulgence in all words descriptive, and the endearing tendency to overuse punctuation. Since the early years Henley has been an enthusiastic writer, from the first few I-love-my-dog stories to the current leap into erotica.
A self-professed Google genius, Henley lives for the hours spent digging through the Internet for ‘research purposes’ which, more often than not, lead seven thousand miles away from first intentions but bring Henley to new discoveries and ideas that, once seeded, tend to flourish.
Henley has been proudly working with LT3 since 2012, and has been writing like mad ever since—an indentured servant to the belief that romance and true love can mend the most broken soul. Even when presented in prose.
