I was lucky enough to get an interview with her!!
When did you know you wanted to be a writer?
Hmm, I guess I have always been a writer. The first story that I ever wrote was for a contest for Christmas in the third grade. It was about a grandmother and her grandson who got stranded during a snow storm. I won the blue ribbon.
That’s kick ass!! You must have been so proud!
What inspired the idea for Aquilla’s and Julius’ story?
I have no idea how to answer that. I never know where my stories are going. They just seem to transpire through my fingers. I’m not one to map out a story and follow it. I like to just start it and see where it goes. I’ve tried having a plan and following it. It doesn’t work for me. I change it anyway.
What advice/thoughts would you like readers, who are considering reading your book, to know?
I tend to write a little on the dark side. I don’t sugarcoat much. I write it how my mind tells me to write it. The best advice that I could give is…If you like simple, soft love stories, you should probably move on.
I agree. I think I mentioned something similar in my review.
Do you have any authors who inspire you?
I do have a few. Too many to count without leaving someone out. And my favorite authors are Indies.
Do you have any other hobbies besides writing?
Reading of course. Does drinking beer count? I’d say it does. I like to paint, walk through the woods, and listen to music.
Drinking always counts! lol
Do you have any affirmations you tell yourself when you have writer’s block?
Not really affirmations. Sometimes I have to walk away and give it a couple days. If I’m not into it, I’m going to write word vomit and end up erasing it. I’m better off to step away for a day or two.
What books do you currently have out besides “Plausibility”?
My first book was probably the most subtle I have ever written, “This too shall Pass”, I have Star series, “Starburst”, “Stardust”, and “Falling Stars”. “Underestimated” was probably my darkest yet and is not for the faint of heart, and “Plausibility”.
I see my reading list has just grown tremendously!
Do you have any other books in the works?
Yes, “For the Love of Maddie” will be released early to mid-December, depending on the editors work load.
What else would you like us to know about yourself and/or your books?
I’m kind of an ‘I don’t give a shit writer,’ If you love my writing I am absolutely thrilled, and love to hear about it. If you don’t, I’m okay with that. If we all liked the same kind of reads, there would be a pretty boring choice of books.
Well, whatever you’re doing, it’s working! So keep up with the not giving a shit writing!! lol
